After protests over killings by police, state lawmakers are considering making it easier to bring criminal charges against officers.
Washington has one of the most restrictive laws when it comes to when you can charge an officer with a crime.
A proposed bill would remove language that prohibits officers from being charged, as long as they acted without "evil intent."
According to the Seattle Times, the state Association for Sheriffs and Police Chiefs opposes the bill.
The bill will get its first public hearing in Olympia Wednesday.
