PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — A 62-year-old man is in custody after officials seized over $32,000 worth of drugs from his Port Townsend home, the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team announced.
Officials said they served a warrant around 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 6000 block of Highway 20 in Port Townsend after detectives established probable cause that Loretz A. Monsaas was selling narcotics.
According to the narcotics team, a confidential informant helped detectives establish probable cause after purchasing heroin and methamphetamine from Monsaas multiple times.
Detectives were able to seize 142.5 grams of heroin, 109.1 grams of cocaine, 41.4 grams of methamphetamine, five suboxone Strips, two oxycodone pills, and $3,502 in cash from Monsaas’ home.
Officials estimated the street value for the drugs was $32,947.50.
Monsaas was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of two counts of delivery of heroin, two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of delivery of a controlled substance within 100 feet of a bus stop and one count of unlawful possession of paraphernalia.
The narcotics team worked alongside officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Port Townsend Police Department during the operation.
The case has been forwarded to the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charging decisions.
