A man was arrested early Sunday in connection with a fire set at a Pioneer Square nightclub last week, Seattle police said.

The 29-year-old man was booked into King County Jail for investigation of arson and an unrelated warrant, according to a press release from the department.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A nightclub fire that happened early Monday was deliberately set, according to investigators.

Firefighters were called to Trinity nightclub in Seattle's Pioneer Square at First and Yesler at 2:36 a.m.

Firefighters had to work to access an enclosed space in the building to put out the fire.

No one was inside the building when the fire started.

Firefighters said the flames were contained to that enclosed space and part of the building's exterior.

Shortly after the fire was out, Seattle fire investigators said they were investigating the fire as possibly being suspicious.

The club has surveillance cameras outside and KIRO 7 received video of what happened moments before the fire was set. Video shows people approaching the man, and him flaming the fire with his shirt – but Frazier said no one call authorities, and no one tried to stop him. Watch it below.

"It's all on camera, and you can see how long it took him to get the fire going," owner Anthony Frazier told KIRO 7.

Frazier said insurance should cover most of the costs to rebuild – and to re-stock nearly 300 open liquor bottles that have to be thrown out because of smoke contamination.

But Frazier said the nightclub will be back open for the Halloween week.

Arson detectives with the Seattle Police Department are still investigating.
