1 dead, 2 injured in Central District shooting

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a shooting Monday night in the Central District.

The shooting happened at 10:15 p.m. at 23rd Avenue and Cherry Street.

When officers arrived, they found two people on the ground who had reportedly been shot.

Officers gave first aid to one victim. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Seattle Fire Department Medics.

A short time later, a third victim arrived at Harborview by private vehicle. Detectives don’t yet know if the victim was injured during the shooting or if there was another scene.

Homicide detectives are trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
