SEATTLE — One person is dead following a building fire in the University District on Sunday night, the Seattle Fire Department announced.
The fire department originally tweeted about the fire in the 800 block of Northeast 42nd Street at 8:43 p.m., saying firefighters were battling a fire in a vacant building. The department tweeted that the fire was under control five minutes later.
Just after 9 p.m., the department announced that firefighters found one deceased person inside of the building structure.
The fire has been extinguished and is under investigation.
