1 dead in collision involving three vehicles in Renton

RENTON, Wash. — One person is dead and others injured in a collision involving three vehicles Friday night in Renton, police said.

Firefighters and police were called after 8 p.m. to Benson Dr. S. and South 27th Place, shutting down all lanes of Benson.

Renton police said one person died and two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an extrication was performed.

Police have not said what led to the crash.

Traffic is being rerouted in the area.

No time was given for when the road would reopen.

The investigation remains ongoing.
