A truck driver was killed and three other people were injured Thursday in a major crash on Interstate 5 in Tacoma.
Debris was strewn across the road for hours as crews worked to clean up the crash.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Brooke Bova tweeted photos the semi’s cargo flipped over the interstate’s median. A damaged sedan was also in the crash that happened near the South 72nd/74th Street interchange.
Traffic was backed up for miles all afternoon in both directions of the interstate. The name of the semi driver killed has not been released.
A separate crash on I-5 is created issues in the South Sound. A semi jackknifed across southbound lanes in Olympia, but it has since been cleared.
