1 injured, 1 in custody in Lacey shooting

LACEY, Wash. — A man suspected of shooting his father was arrested Sunday in Lacey, police said.

Officers were called at about 5:45 p.m. to the 5600 block of 45th Avenue Southeast, where they found a man in his 50s with a gunshot wound to the face.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital, had surgery and is now in stable condition.

The shooting is believed to have started with some type of disturbance between the father and his son at the home. Police said they recovered a gun believed to have been used in the shooting.

The suspect, who is in his 30s, was booked into the Thurston County Jail for first-degree assault.

The investigation remains ongoing.
