SEATTLE — A suspected DUI driver was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that left another driver injured Friday night in Seattle, police said.
The crash happened at East Marginal Way South and Diagonal Avenue South before 10 p.m.
When crews arrived at the scene, a 25-year-old driver had to be cut from his vehicle and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Police said the other driver was gone before officers arrived.
Witnesses told police a driver in an Infinity sedan went over the dividing median curb, drove into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into another car. He was pulled from his car and taken away from the scene in an uninvolved car.
Investigators said police later found out the Infinity driver’s friend was following him in a separate car, and they took him to a hospital. The driver had significant injuries in the crash and was eventually taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Officers arrested the driver at Harborview Medical Center on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The crash is under investigation.
