MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. — One person was killed when a car and semitruck collided Saturday morning on SR 18 near Maple Valley, officials said.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on SR 18 at milepost 27, just west of I-90.
A small black SUV was traveling westbound on SR 18 when it crossed the center line and hit the semitruck traveling eastbound in a head-on collision, according to state patrol.
The driver of the SUV, an adult woman, died on the scene. The driver of the semitruck was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
SR 18 closed from I-90 to Issaquah/Hobart Road but was reopened hours later.
