SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A 1-year-old girl is dead after suffering a gunshot wound Saturday evening in Granite Falls, Snohomish County deputies said.
Law enforcement was called at 5:50 p.m. for a report of a weapons assault complaint in the 8600 block of State Route 92.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the 1-year-old girl with a gunshot wound, officials said.
Deputies said the child was later pronounced dead.
It is not yet known what led to the child being shot.
Deputies returned Sunday to serve a search warrant and collect more evidence for the investigation. No arrests have been made yet.
Tonight at approximately 5:50p North units were dispatched to a weapons assault complaint in the 8600 blk of SR 92 Granite Falls. Once on scene a one yoa female child was discovered with a gun shot wound and was later pronounced deceased. Major Crimes Unit is on scene.
