According to Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carly Cappetto, a 10-year-old girl who was pulled from the water at Lake Tapps is being transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Cappetto told KIRO the Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident at 2 p.m., and the child was out of the water 8 minutes later, after which a deputy began CPR.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation remains active as deputies interview witnesses and family members.
