SEATTLE, Wash. — Dick’s Drive-In turns 71 on January 28 and to celebrate the occasion, the chain is offering burgers and cheeseburgers at the original price of 19¢ for three days at differing locations:
January 28: Wallingford, Broadway, Lake City
January 29: Queen Anne, Crossroads, Federal Way
January 30: Holman Road, Edmonds, Kent
The limit is one per customer.
The first Dick’s Drive-In was founded by Dick Spady, Warren Ghormley and Dr. B.O.A. “Thom” Thomas in Wallingford on NE 45th Street on January 28, 1954.
At the time, the going rate for hamburgers was 35¢.
“Not many people believed that selling burgers for 19¢, especially with a commitment to quality ingredients, could succeed, but for our customers it was love at first bite and here we are 71 years later,” said Jasmine Donovan, President of Dick’s Drive-In in a news release.
This year, Dick’s Drive-In will open its 10th restaurant. The Everett location will start serving burgers, fries, and shakes this summer. An exact date has not been announced.
