KIRO-7 asked Auburn police, Commander Steve Stocker said they do not know the cause of the crash. It would be up to the medical examiner to determine if Stanley Cross suffered from a medical problem that contributed to the crash.
Investigators say there weren't any skid marks at the scene which indicates Cross never hit the brakes after he left the road before striking a post and fence.
"The only thing we do know is it's a horrible accident and we have three children deceased," said Commander Stocker.
"We had some officers who arrived on scene right away. One of the officers took ahold of the three-year-old girl and was able to comfort her before the medics could get to her."
The Cross family is well known in the Muckleshoot Tribe. Stanley Cross worked at Muckleshoot Bingo, his wife works at the Muckleshoot Child Development Center.
The tribe is pulling together to support the families impacted by the horrific accident.
