2 killed in floatplane crash in southeast Alaska; second deadly crash in one week

Two people were killed Monday afternoon after a floatplane crash in the Southeast Alaska.

The crash happened In Metlakatla at about 4 p.m.

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough said a pilot and passenger were killed and no other people were on board the aircraft.

Investigators said the crash invovled a Taquan Air #20, de Havilland DHC-2 aircraft.

This crash comes a week after two floatplanes crashed near Ketchikan, Alaska. Six people were killed and 10 were injured.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
