SEATTLE — Two men were injured in a shooting after a fight broke out in front of a Capitol Hill nightclub early Saturday morning, police said.

Witnesses began calling 911 to report a fight outside a club in the 1200 block of Pine Street around 2 a.m. When police arrived, they heard multiple gunshots and saw people attempting to leave the area.

An officer spotted a 30-year-old man trying to leave holding a gun. He was taken into custody. Police determined that he is a felon who is not allowed to possess a handgun. The man told police that he was injured, and he was then transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

A 35-year-old man also approached police saying he had also been shot. He was taken to Harborview for treatment.

The owner of the Baltic Club, Rahsaan Henry, said two men were fighting over something outside the club, when one of them ran to their business for help.
"He came inside for safe refuge, we broke everybody up," Henry said.

But when they closed for the night, the fight continued outside.

“We we can’t control that,” Henry said. “It didn’t happen inside of here, it didn’t even originate here,” he said.

He said the club added extra security outside on Saturday night as a precaution to keep everyone safe.

Police are continuing to investigate.
