REDMOND, Wash. — Two men were arrested for investigation of sexually assaulting a woman they met through an online dating website, Redmond Police said.
According to court documents Ahmed Yusuf, 32, and Abdullahi Abdi, 20, assaulted the woman after she came to their Redmond apartment to smoke marijuana.
The victim told police she met a man named "Muhamud" through the dating website "Plenty of Fish." Wednesday was the first time she met him in person. According to court documents "Muhamud" is really Ahmed Yusuf. Investigators said he raped the victim while his roommate, Abdi helped hold her down.
KIRO-7 Eastside Reporter Alison Grande went to the Redmond apartment complex off Avondale Road and talked to witnesses who heard the victim screaming for help and called 911.
Yusuf appeared in court on Thursday afternoon for investigation of rape,unlawful imprisonment and robbery. His public defender told the judge Yusuf works at Amazon. The judge determined he was a danger to the community and set bail at $250,000.
Abdi chose to waive his court appearance. He is also under investigation of rape, unlawful imprisonment and robbery and had his bail set at $25,000. His public defender told the judge he is a student and works at Discount Tires.
