SEATTLE — Two kayakers who fell into the water near the Ballard Locks were rescued Sunday.
Video shared with KIRO 7 shows someone in the water holding onto a rope and trying to get to safety.
In one part of the video, you hear people yelling, trying to figure out where the second person was.
Seattle firefighters said the kayakers fell in on the freshwater side and were tossed out of their shells. One person remained on the freshwater side, while the other was on the saltwater side.
According to the Ballard Locks Twitter post, the kayakers were pulled into the spillway area by a current from all the heavy rain the region had dealt with over the past few days.
There was also a tweet reminding people about the importance of wearing life jackets.
Also, the video showed two boats come along and remove the kayaks.
