FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Way Police arrested two 18-year-old suspects after a shooting that left two 17-year-old boys injured in a parking lot behind the King County Aquatic Center Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened around 9:40 a.m. after police say the victims met up with the suspects, which led to an altercation and gunfire.
KIRO 7 News flew over the scene, where yellow taped closed in part of the parking lot as police investigated.
Both victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Hospital officials said both were in intensive care, with one listed in critical condition and the other in serious condition.
"Right now we're not looking for anybody else additional, we believe we have everybody that was there," said Cathy Schrock of Federal Way Police.
Schrock said her agency always shares ballistics information with other agencies to figure out if there's a connection to other crimes, such as last week's shooting near Graham-Kapowsin High School.
"That's definitely something that's on everyone's mind when you talk about school age or teenage high school age victims or suspects," Schrock said. "We're definitely going to be looking at that and that's why the forensic evidence is going to be so important."
The King County Aquatic Center opened 1990. It contains an Olympic-sized pool for swimming, diving and water polo.
