Police say detectives set up a sting Thursday morning and within 20 minutes, three people in a green car took packages off a lady’s porch.
Detectives followed the suspects into the city of Pacific where they were caught opening the packages, officials said.
Police said the suspects should have looked to see who the packages were addressed to, an Auburn police detective.
The suspects were booked into jail for investigation of theft.
