3 injured in hit-and-run collision, vehicle fire near Kent

KENT, Wash. — Three people were injured after a car caught fire following a hit-and-run collision near Kent, according to Puget Sound Fire.

A vehicle was traveling northbound on State Route 167 around 2 a.m. Sunday when another car drove it off the roadway and into a ditch near the 212th Street exit. The car then struck a tree and caught fire.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene, continuing to travel northbound on SR 167.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire shortly after arriving at the scene.

Three people were injured in the crash and were treated at the scene.

King County Medic One, Tri-Med Ambulance and PSF responded to the collision.

Washington State Patrol is now investigating the incident.
