$300,000 worth of equipment, products stolen from Seattle medical spa

SEATTLE — It's been more than a week since thieves broke into a Seattle medical spa and stole more than $300,000 worth of equipment and products.

Debra Tri, who owns Simplicity Medspa near Ravenna, said she still hasn’t gotten a police response.

She recorded video on her phone that shows her business ransacked the morning of July 3.

“It basically left me non operational,” Tri said.

Thieves cleared her shelves of all injectables and treatment products like Botox. They made off with practically everything including a Picolo medical laser machine worth almost $130,000 and a CoolSculpting machine worth $100,000.

To her surprise, here's what happened when she called 911.

“I explained I’d been burglarized and could they send somebody to take a report and they said it wasn’t a priority. They had too much other things going on,” Tri recounted.

After a couple of days of waiting, she finally filled out a report online. But still has not spoken to anyone.

“I’m frustrated in that they don’t know what they’re looking for,” Tri explained. “Oone of those pieces of equipment is a medical laser device that could blow a hole through someone’s nose. So, if it gets in the wrong hands it can be dangerous.”

Tri said the criminals broke in through the window. It's the second time in nine months her business has been targeted.

Though she's working with her insurance company, she worries whether her spa will survive after the hits taken due to the pandemic.

“And then to be burglarized and robbed of mostly everything that I do,” she said. “I don’t know if I can keep on going.”

She’s pleading with the public to keep an eye out for her equipment and offering a $10,000 reward.

SPD said its telephone reporting unit attempted to call the business back. Tri said she has not gotten any calls from SPD.
