SEATTLE — State regulators ordered four moving companies to cease providing services until they obtain required permits, the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission said.
The companies were cited by an administrative law judge in August to stop working until the proper licensing was acquired.
Auburn-based Ben's Moving Services, Seattle-based Brothers Moving and Spanaway-based Moving Pros Northwest 6 all received a $5,000 penalty. The companies failed to appear at their respective hearings, and the commission found all the companies in default and ordered them to immediately stop operating.
Port Angeles-based Amazing Movers 360 also received a $5,000 penalty. The company obtained a temporary permit, and the judge suspended $4,500 of the penalty on the condition that the company refrains from operating.
Customers can check a mover's permit at this state website.
