ZILLAH, Wash. — Five students were injured at an Eastern Washington high school when the bounce house they were in was picked up by a gust of wind and flipped Wednesday afternoon before crashing to the ground.

Cellphone video from KEPR shows the moment the wind swept it up near the football field at Zillah High School during an Associated Student Body event.

One of the five students was airlifted to Harborview in critical condition.

A witness told KHQ the bounce house was carried as high as a telephone pole wire, and the Yakima Herald reports it was carried more than 240 feet.

City fire chief Paul Stonemetz told the Herald it was not known whether the bounce house had been anchored to the ground.

Stonemetz said four other students had injuries that included a possible concussion and minor injuries to the knee, ankle and ribs.

The company that provided several inflatable bounce houses and play centers for the event on the football field is Petreas Bounce Houses.
