MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A 7-month-old baby girl survived a rollover car crash Monday morning in Marysville.
The baby has been checked out by a local hospital and released. “Proof that car seats save lives and prevent serious injuries,” Marysville police officials tweeted.
A photo showed the vehicle upside down.
Police said the SUV crashed into a tree. The baby's 44-year-old father was driving. Neighbors saw the father crawl out of the vehicle after the crash and run into his nearby house.
Police said neighbors rescued the baby from the car.
The father was returning from Walmart after buying baby formula, police said. During the investigation, officers found a loaded firearm inside the man's diaper bag.
Police said the father is now facing criminal charges related to the accident, leaving the child and the firearm.
CPS officials have taken custody of the baby girl.
