LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — A missing 86-year-old Chelan County man has been found dead, just a day after a Silver Alert to find him was issued.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, deputies were sent to White River Road, close to Lake Wenatchee, around 2:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17. to look for a stuck car.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered the car was registered to 86-year-old Carl Pruitt. Pruitt was reported missing by Wenatchee PD Aug. 16, and Washington State Patrol sent out a Silver Alert to find him the same day.

After finding the vehicle, police began immediately searching the area via drone. The drone survey found Pruitt about “one-third of a mile” away from his car, according to the post.

Pruitt was safely recovered by deputies, fire and rescue, and Cascade Medical, and identified by Chelan County Chief Deputy Coroner Faye Fetters.

Deputies believe there was no foul play involved in Pruitt’s death, according to the post.
