ABERDEEN, Wash. — A 23-year-old Aberdeen man was taken to a hospital Monday after biking into the side of a car, officials said.

Police and fire officials responded around 6 p.m. to the collision at the intersection of Boone and Marion.

A 47-year-old man was driving a Subaru Outback east on Marion Street and then stopped at a stop sign. After checking the roadway was clear, he pulled into the intersection and was hit by the bicyclist, police said.

Officials said the cyclist was riding northbound on the sidewalk and hit the car by the left front tire, getting a non-life-threatening leg injury.
