A demonstration against Chase Bank's funding of fossil fuels blocked southbound lanes on Second Avenue near Union Street on Wednesday afternoon, according to SDOT. Drivers were advised to use alternate routes if possible and expect delays.

The protests are part of an effort to pressure Chase to stop funding fossil fuels and fossil fuel infrastructure, according to a press release from the group.

Similar demonstrations are happening today at other branches in major cities including New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and others.

Seattle protesters met at Westlake Park at 1 p.m. and then moved to a local Chase branch.
