After 3 years, man charged in Burien shooting that killed young woman, girl

BURIEN, Wash. — A 23-year-old man has been charged three years after police say he shot and killed a young woman and a girl in Burien.

Francisco Montero is accused of killing 13-year-old Elizabeth Juarez and 19-year-old Eveona Cortez outside an apartment building in March 2018.

King County deputies said they were called to Ambaum Boulevard Southwest near Southwest 139th Street to find a chaotic scene, with people running everywhere.

According to court documents, Montero’s DNA and fingerprints were found on shell casings near the shooting.

King County prosecutors said they believe the shooting was gang related.

Montero is currently in prison for a 2017 murder he was convicted of in 2018.
