After a weekend of shootings, another person shot in Seattle Monday

SEATTLE — Seattle police officers are investigating a shooting at a homeless camp near the Yesler Terrace neighborhood Monday morning.

It happened near Eighth and Yesler around 8:30 a.m.

Officers arrived to find a man with at least one gunshot wound.

Seattle Fire Department medics took the 39-year-old victim to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they spoke with people living at the camp, but no information was provided to officers.

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the tip line at 206-233-5000.

The shooting is the latest in a string that happened in the city over the weekend.

Early Sunday morning, three people were killed and five others were hurt in unrelated shootings in and around downtown Seattle.

Late Sunday night, another person died in a shooting in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood.
