One of the most popular tourist destinations in Oregon is finally set to open again months after the Eagle Creek Fire shut it down months ago, according to KOIN News.
The U.S Forest Service opened the lodge at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The opening includes the lodge, front plaza, and the I-84 parking lot. The site has been closed since September 4.
The trails will remain closed until Shady Creek Bridge can be replaced and a complete trail condition assessment has been done.
The historic lodge was almost destroyed in the fire, but it was saved by fire crews.
"A task force of structural engines and one aerial ladder truck worked in conjunction with a strike team of water tenders to keep the lodge wetted down during the fire storm of falling embers. Large trees nearby torched and fire crews used hose lines to protect the lodge from heat," officials wrote in September.

Officials with Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue shared an image over their Twitter account, thanking the men and women fighting the fire near the falls.
The Multnomah Falls plummet 620 feet in two steps; it’s the highest waterfall in Oregon and the second highest in the nation, according to the lodge’s website.
Multnomah Falls Lodge was built in 1925.
