Alaska Airlines confirmed Sunday that one of its customer service agents at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport tested positive for COVID-19.
The airline said it will work with local public health authorities to identify those who may have come in immediate contact with the person.
To make sure employees are safe, the airline has its agents disinfect their personal workspaces before and after each shift, and will conduct an enhanced cleaning on all surfaces where that agent has worked, officials with the airline said.
The airline said, “Those areas where the employee worked and the employee breakroom area are receiving a thorough cleaning.”
On Saturday, two checkpoints at the airport were closed for cleaning after a Transportation Security Administration officer tested positive for COVID-19.
TSA said the officer was a screener who worked at checkpoints 3 and 4, which were cleaned and reopened.
