Alaska Airlines Seattle flight to Phoenix experiences severe turbulence, crew hospitalized

An Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Phoenix encountered severe turbulence on Thursday afternoon, resulting in medical evaluations for several crew members and one passenger.

Flight 700, which departed from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), experienced turbulence around 2:30 p.m. MST while en route to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).

Upon landing, medical professionals met the plane at the gate.

Alaska Airlines confirmed that no passengers required hospitalization.

However, several crew members were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

“We apologize for any concern this experience may have caused our guests,” the airline stated, expressing gratitude for the crew’s professionalism during the incident.

The company also confirmed it is providing support to the affected crew members as they recover.

No further details about the severity of the injuries or the cause of the turbulence have been released.
