SEATAC, Wash. — Alaska Airlines is set to open two new options for international travelers.
Based at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the airline is adding nonstop flights to Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea.
The service to Tokyo Narita (NRT) starts in May, while the service to Seoul Incheon (ICN) starts in October.
The Alaska Air Group also introduced “Alaska Accelerate,” its three-year strategic plan to deliver $1 billion in profit following its merger with Hawaiian Airlines.
The plan includes the launch of a new “global gateway” from Seattle with the two nonstop routes to Tokyo and Seoul, as well as an expansion to at least 12 international widebody destinations by 2030.
Alaska Airlines also plans to debut a premium credit card with benefits, available in summer 2025, and expand its lounges, planning a new flagship international lounge in Seattle by 2027.
