ARLINGTON, Wash. — Amazon is planning to expand its operations in the Puget Sound region by opening a new fulfillment center in Arlington.
The new warehouse at 4620 172nd Street NE will create more than 1,000 full-time jobs with a starting wage of $15 an hour when it opens later this year.
Employees at the more than 600,000 square-foot facility will help pick, pack and ship customer orders.
“Later this year, we will begin hiring for a wide range of roles, everything from receiving and stowing inventory to shipping customer orders and supporting network logistics,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment. “Amazon offers opportunities for professional development and encourages current employees as well as interested candidates to consider building a longer-term career with us.”
Though the company is not yet hiring for the Arlington location, candidates can visit amazon.com/apply to learn more and to sign up for text alerts to be notified when new jobs are posted.
Amazon currently employs more than 80,000 employees throughout Washington state.
