SEATTLE — Crews are still working on improvements to the fan experience at Lumen Field as they and the 12s get ready for the Seahawks’ big opening night on Sept. 12.
Among the new additions will be a food and beverage store in the new District Market, which will be powered by Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology.
Lumen Field will be the very first NFL stadium to have this type of store, allowing fans to get back to the football action faster than waiting in lines.
There will be no checkout lines. Fans will be able to enter and pay using the palms of their hands.
The District Market will be in the upper concourse in an upgraded area of section 323.
It’s all part of a big, 20th-anniversary upgrade, including new, enormous diamond-vision scoreboards that will be displayed.
A new 6,300-square-foot premium food and bar area called “Cityside Bars” will be located in the north endzone.
Also, 12s who want to see the Seahawks come and go from the locker room to the field will be offered access to a new tunnel club.
Fans can enroll in Amazon’s new palm reading technology at a kiosk outside the District Market, allowing 12s to be checkout-line-free for the rest of the season.
