1-year-old at center of AMBER Alert found, father in custody

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. — A 17-month-old at the center of an AMBER Alert in Port Orchard has been located.

A 32-year-old father was accused of taking the child forcibly from the boy’s mother.

An AMBER Alert was issued earlier this morning, but while on live with KIRO 7, public information officer for Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Kevin McCarty said the suspect was taken into custody and the child was found.

McCarty said the suspect had an order of protection against him and had been facing charges for domestic violence and robbery, among several others.

The child was taken in the area of Overaa Road in unincorporated Port Orchard.

Deputies have not specified the condition of the child, but he appears to be okay.
