Child found after amber alert issued by Ocean Shores police

OCEAN SHORES, Wash. — The Ocean Shores Police Department has canceled the amber alert it issued earlier Tuesday for a 5-year-old boy.

The department said the child was located shortly after 2:30 p.m.

The Ocean Shores Police Department has issued an amber alert for a 5-year-old boy.

According to police, Timothy Cooper was "taken by his non-custodial father from his grandparents home during a heated argument after threats to abscond with the child" around 10:40 Tuesday morning.

Police described Cooper as 3 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 50 pounds.

Cooper's father was identified as 50-year-old Thomas Cooper – who is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds.

Police said they may be traveling in a silver 2001 Nissan Xterra with Washington license plate BQR9567.
