ORIGINAL STORY:

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old boy who was taken from his Spokane Valley home.

According to the Spokane County sheriff, a woman's estranged husband broke into her home, stabbed her, took their child and then left Tuesday.

The Spokane County Valley Sheriff’s Office said at approximately 5 a.m., deputies responded to a panic alarm at a home in the 12800 block of East Blossey in Spokane Valley.

When deputies arrived, they found a side gate wide open. They knocked on the front door and heard a woman screaming inside for help, law enforcement officials said. Because the front door was locked, deputies then went to the back door, which was open.

Deputies said they found the victim bleeding profusely from what appeared to be stab wounds.

The victim told deputies she had recently served the suspect, 41-year-old Justin P. Robertson, with divorce papers, officials said. She told deputies Robertson had stabbed her and left with their 5-year-old son, Ethan.

The victim was then transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but their injuries were later downgraded to non-life-threatening status, law enforcement said.

Robertson is described as white, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 205 pounds, with green eyes and a goatee.  He was last seen wearing a green Adidas T-shirt and black Adidas shorts.

Robertson is believed to be driving a red, 2014 Subaru Legacy with Washington plate APN2450.

Ethan Robertson is white, weighs 30 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing blue pajamas and an orange Nike T-shirt.

The Sheriff's Office said Robertson has access to weapons and should be considered armed and dangerous.
