AR-15 rifle, body armor stolen from reserve deputy’s lockbox

SEATTLE — A rifle, magazines, a pepper-ball gun and other items were stolen from an out-of-state reserve deputy’s lockbox early Thursday.

Seattle police West Precinct officers said at 6 a.m., the victim’s vehicle was parked in a secure garage when a window was broken by a suspect.

The suspect then removed a backpack that contained keys to a lockbox inside the vehicle, and then removed the contents of the lockbox.

It contained a .556 caliber Anderson AR-15 rifle, soft shell body armor carrier with body armor, a “military-style” plate carrier with hard plates, a duty belt equipped with an expandable baton, pepper spray, and Byrna less-lethal pepper-ball gun. There were also two Glock 19 magazines loaded in the duty belt.

Police said the reserve deputy, who is in Seattle to work as a security guard, said all the stolen items were personal property.
