Mother’s Day Weekend is coming up and with all the fun events happening this weekend, why not celebrate Mom at Pike Place? The Market is having their 15th annual flower festival this weekend highlighting local farmers and spring flowers in bloom!

“On Mother’s Day Weekend, Saturday, May 13th, and Sunday, May 14th you can come down to the market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all of Pike Place will be lined with our famous flower vendors so you can get bouquets for your Mom, for yourself, or someone special,” Pike Place Marketing and Public Relations Manager Madison Bristol said.

There will also be live music, a fun atmosphere, and special offers.

“So, if you spend $50 on Saturday at any market business you can redeem it for a Pike Place Market Flower Festival tote and same with Sunday if you spend $50 you can get a really adorable tote bag,” Bristol said.

That goes for any market business, including restaurants too. But only for the first 500 customers.

“For my family, we prepare about two weeks in advance, one week preparing all the filler, and then the week after start putting together the bouquets and we store it in our cooler so they last for a while,” flower farmer Melissa Lor said.

“It makes me relieved that people are enjoying all the flowers because we have an abundance of it and I’m happy to see their smiles getting their moms’ gifts and it makes me happy and relieved that my flowers won’t go to waste,” Lor added.
