PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The Pierce County Arts Commission is looking for a local artist – or team of artists – to create a special, large-scale mural at the Pierce County Election Center this spring.

The mural will be housed at the Annex West Facility located at 2501 South 35th Street Tacoma, WA.

It’s a 2,200-square-foot canvas stretching from the Tacoma Streetscape toward the entrance of the building.

The art commission is looking for someone who is inspired by our natural environment, and county landmarks, or interested in creating an abstract depiction of the two.

The $60,000 budget for this project is funded through the Pierce County 1% for the Arts Program, a program designed to encourage and increase legacy artwork.

The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Monday, February 3.
