EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Police Department has arrested a boy in connection with yesterday’s stabbing of a 14-year-old at Lions Park.
The department made the announcement Wednesday morning - one day after the stabbing occurred.
A neighbor called 911 Tuesday around 1:30 a.m. after the teen boy ran to their house and started banging on the door, asking for help.
The neighbor told KIRO 7 he was covered in blood and having a hard time breathing.
“He was bleeding heavily from the chest and stomach, and he was naked,” she said.
The Everett Fire Department responded and rushed the teen to Providence Hospital for surgery.
Police used a K-9 track and a drone to search for the person responsible, but initially came up empty.
Major Crimes Unit Detectives and members of the police department’s Violent Crime Unit worked diligently to identify the suspect and arrested a boy for assault.
The department says the two are believed to know each other, but the relationship and what led up to the stabbing are under investigation.
