MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A man was arrested Friday after a report of an attempted robbery at a park in downtown Moses Lake.
Officials with the Moses Lake Police Department said officers responded about 10:45 a.m. to South Alder Street, where a victim said a man had pulled him into the alley and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t give up a deposit bag.
The man fought back and drew the attention of nearby people who came to help him, police said.
Police said the suspect then fled and officers found him running near South Chestnut Street and caught him in Civic Center Park behind the police department.
The suspect had a stolen 9mm pistol on him, police said.
Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and assault and possession of a stolen firearm.
