Auburn Police search for 10-year-old boy linked to armed robberies

Auburn Police are still searching for a ten-year-old boy involved in a recent string of armed robberies.

Officers say three other suspects involved in the robberies were arrested in Fall City this week.

Auburn Spokesperson Kolby Crossley said four suspects walked into the Chevron on East Valley Highway with a knife on December 4.

They said the youngest of the suspects was only 10 years old and on Friday morning he is still on the run.

“That’s not shocking. That’s something we see all the time,” Crossley said.

They say the kids conducted a violent crime spree during the early hours of December 4.

“They tried to ram a car into a cannabis store, stole another car, then hit other businesses,” Crossley said.

Police say four different stores were robbed between Auburn, Maple Valley, Des Moines, and Kent at knifepoint.

“It was the same group of four people ages 13, 16, 17, and a 10-year-old,” Crossley said.

Crossley said they stole money, alcohol, vapes, and cigarettes.

Two days later, some of them were found trying to rob a gun shop.

”Three of those four suspects were involved in the Fall City robbery, which led to a pursuit and their arrest,” Crossley said.

He says the 10-year-old was not part of that group arrested.

However, the other three suspects are now booked in juvenile detention on burglary charges.

Crossley tells us he hopes these kids can get the help they need.

”Is it alarming? Absolutely, we don’t want kids involved in crimes like this, we want kids to be in school and with their friends not in a way like this,” Crossley said. “So that’s alarming but not shocking.”

Auburn police say if you have any information on who or where that ten-year-old is, go ahead and give them a call.
