Bainbridge Island ferry terminal resumes operations after bomb threat

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. — The Bainbridge Island ferry terminal has resumed operations following a bomb threat, according to the Washington State Patrol Homeland Security Division.

WSP Homeland Security tweeted that the terminal was closed due to a bomb threat at 10:55 a.m. Sunday.

Troopers and officers with the Bainbridge Island Police Department were at the Bainbridge terminal and worked to clear the facility.

WSP K9 teams searched the vessel and terminal, and did not locate anything suspicious.

The Seattle/Bainbridge ferry route was suspended while the threat was being investigated, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.

Washington State Ferries resumed normal operations around 1 p.m. after receiving approval from the Coast Guard.

Colman Dock was also closed to incoming traffic while K9 teams completed a search of the Tacoma vessel, but it has since reopened.
