On Wednesday, the Ballard Food Bank will give out hundreds of turkeys and other food in advance of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday for families in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Food bank staff, members of the National Guard, and other volunteers will give out the turkeys through a contactless drive-thru in the food bank’s parking lot. Volunteers will also prepare meal kits to be delivered through the food bank’s home delivery service.
Seattle restaurateur Ethan Stowell will also be part of the festivities, handing out food in a turkey costume.
The Ballard Food Bank is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. For more information, or for details on scheduling a home delivery, visit ballardfoodbank.org.
