MILL CREEK, Wash. — A thief left behind a package that appeared to be an explosive during a robbery at a Chase Bank in Mill Creek on Friday.

The bank, located at 132nd Street and Seattle Hill Road, was robbed around 2:30 p.m.

The robber left a package behind and indicated it was an explosive, deputies said.

The bank and nearby businesses were evacuated.

The bomb squad determined the robber had left behind a bag with three road flares duct-taped to an alarm clock.

Businesses reopened after getting the all-clear signal.

Deputies have yet to find the robber.
