Bellevue Ice Rink now open downtown

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

It’s the holidays, and many are looking for some fun ways to spend time with friends and family. If you’re up for skating, Bellevue has the place for pros or true beginners.

The Bellevue Ice Rink has been a holiday tradition for 25 years. Tucked away in the heart of downtown Bellevue, the ice rink has been drawing larger crowds with each year that passes.

”Ice skating is so fun because it is so different from walking and there’s just something about steel on real ice, and the gracefulness of gliding that I think just puts you in a different place, and it’s a lot of fun,” said Patrick Bannon of the Bellevue Downtown Association.

The rink is open every day through Jan. 8, aiming to make skating accessible to all by also offering free skate lessons! The next session is Jan. 3.

”Our ability to bring community events is just part of a strategy to bring people together, because when people come together to have fun, they’re building relationships, they’re supporting local shops during the holiday season and really just building memories that will last forever,” said Bannon.

Not only do you have access to the ice, they also serve hot drinks and snacks to keep you fueled for the workout.

You can buy tickets and look for a list of free skate lesson days on Bellevueicerink.com.
