CLE ELUM, Wash. — A Bellevue man who was sightseeing Tuesday in Cle Elum died when he fell 400 yards down an embankment, according to Kittitas County deputies.
Deputies were called to perform a search and rescue about 11:30 a.m. in the area of the Peoh Point Lookout.
When rescue crews arrived, they were informed a 60-year-old man had slipped and fallen off the ridge crest.
Lifesaving measures were performed, but the man had died from his injuries suffered in the fall, officials said.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
